terms and conditions for trauma sensitive yoga

By accessing The Inner Nest website, or attending classes in person, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with the privacy policy, govern The Inner Nest’s relationship with you.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga classes

Bookings for group trauma sensitive yoga classes are to be made via The Inner Nest website here. No payment is taken at the time of booking.

These classes are designed to offer gentle, trauma-sensitive yoga intended to support grounding, embodiment, and nervous system regulation. They are not a substitute for therapy, medical treatment, or crisis services.

Participation and Personal Agency

Trauma-sensitive yoga is offered using invitational, choice-based language. You are always encouraged to move at a pace that feels right for you, to modify or skip any movement, and to make decisions that support your physical and emotional wellbeing. There is no expectation to perform any pose, share personal information, or participate in any activity that feels uncomfortable.

Physical Safety

You understand that yoga may involve gentle to moderately challenging movements at times. By participating, you acknowledge that any physical activity carries some degree of risk. You choose to participate voluntarily and accept responsibility for monitoring your own comfort, limits, and safety throughout the practice. You warrant that you are physically able to engage in these classes without risking serious injury and agree to seek medical advice if you are unsure of your capacity to participate.

Scope of Practice

You understand and acknowledge that during a trauma-sensitive yoga class, you are receiving instruction in yoga only. While this style of yoga may support emotional regulation and grounding, it is not a replacement for mental health treatment, counselling, or medical care. Sonia does not provide therapy, diagnosis, crisis support, or medical advice during yoga classes.

Liability

You acknowledge that Sonia shall not be responsible or liable for any injury, illness, or other mishap that may arise directly or indirectly from participation in the yoga practice.

Payments and Cancellation of Classes

Payments for classes are taken on the day of class using a square reader for card payments or exact cash (no change carried). The tuition paid for drop-in classes and 10-class passes is non-refundable. Sonia may, at her discretion, offer a refund or credit in exceptional circumstances.
